Happy Birthday to me..........

Presents and cards to start the day, brought all the way from home by the lovely bearded one.  Lovely pearl earrings from mum, books from bearded one, and a cheque (always welcome) from little sister. 

Revisited Aix en Provence today.  Hadn't been all that impressed on our previous visit 10 or so years ago, but it was winter, cold and pouring with rain.  This time, helped by the warm sunshine we had a great time.  Followed a walking tour of the old town from our trusty Michelin green guide, pressing our noses against the windows of countless patisseries, and coming across little squares with fountains and markets (brocantes, flowers, books).  At lunchtime we chanced upon a lebanese place we'd frequented on our previous visit.  Creatures of habit we may be, but we remembered it as being very good, so in we went.   We only wanted a light lunch as we are headed to the Croque Chou this evening, so we shared a selection of meze followed by skewers of chicken and meat.  Lemon and mint flavours were much in evidence.  As good as we remembered.  Better not leave it another 10 years before returning!
